Katori chaat is an unique chaat recipe or a street food served in crisp snack deep fried bowl’s. it can be an ideal party starter snack and certainly can raise lot of curiosity with your party guests. katori chaat recipe is my personal favorite recipe. the main reason is because if you can prepare the katori’s well ahead in advance and use those whenever you require it.
IngredientsFOR KATORI: * 2 cup Maida(all purpose flour) * ½ tsp salt * 2 tbsp oil, hot * Water to knead * Oil for frying or brushing FOR KATORI CHAAT: * 1 potato(boiled & cubed) * ¼ cup green chutney * 1 cup moong sprouts * ½ cup tamarind chutney * 1 cup curd (whisked) * Kashmiri red chili powder * Cumin powder (jeera powder) * 1 onion, finely chopped * 1 tomato, finely chopped * ½ cup sev * Few coriander leaves * Chaat masala * Pink salt How To Make:
1.Firstly, knead the dough and let it rest for sometime by covering it with some wet cloth. 2. Now take a ball sized dough, and flatten it out. 3. Dust the flour as required and roll it slightly thick. 4. Prick the flattened dough with a fork at a few places. 5. Place a small katori and wrap the dough. 6. Deep fry in hot oil or bake in preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 30 minutes. (I tried mine in an airfyer) 7. Let the katori rest for 5 mints, and then gently remove it and after brushing it up with some olive oil, place it in the air fryer at 180 degree Celsius for 20 mints. Make sure to check it in every 5-7mints. 8. Mine were a lil undone, so I brushed them up a little with some oil and placed them again in the oven for 5 mints at 180 degrees. They came out nice and crisp after this step. 9. Prepare the chaat by assembling katori in a plate. 10. Add in 1 tsp boiled Chana(optional), 1 tsp boiled and cubed potato, 2 tbsp moong sprouts, ½ tsp green chutney, 1 tsp tamarind chutney and 1 tbsp curd. 11. Also sprinkle some chili powder, cumin powder and salt. 12. Add in a tbsp of onion and tomato diced Now it's ready to eat. Garnish it with some sev and few coriander leaves. And Finally serve katori chaat by sprinkling some chaat masala over it.
