Butter Tawa Naan Recipe

Easy Butter Naan Recipe using a iron Tawa  or Non stick pan. We can make Soft, puffy with brown blisters Naan just like Indian restaurants style.

Making dough

1. In a mixing bowl take ¼ cup fresh curd or yogurt.

2. Add 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1 pinch baking soda. If you do not have baking soda, then skip it.

3. Mix all the ingredients very well till the sugar dissolves

4. Now add 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt or add as required in the bowl and Again Mix well.

5. Add 2 tablespoons oil or butter.

6. Add ¼ to ⅓ cup water or add as required.

7. First mix and then begin to knead

8. Knead to a smooth dough.  If it becomes sticky, then sprinkle some flour and knead again. You should get a soft stretchy dough.

9. Place a moist kitchen towel or napkin completely covering on the dough. Cover the bowl with a lid and let the dough leaven for minimum 3 to 4 hours.

10. Make medium-sized balls from the dough.

11. Flatten slightly and sprinkle some flour on the dough as well as on the rolling board.

After Following these Common Steps, We can make a Naan by different two methods:

1. by using Iron Tawa or  

2. by using Non stick pan

Method 1- Make a Naan Using Tawa

1. Now take a one portion & start Roll the ball to a any shape like triangle or round or oval shape whichever you want but it will be thin.

2. Now apply little plain water on the top of the Naan properly by brush or manually.

3. Now it's ready to cook, place it on iron hot Tawa on high flame. In this Method don't use non stick pan.

4. Then Sprinkle some onion seeds (kalonji) or sesame seeds (black or white) on the naan and press lightly. If you do not have these seeds, then simply skip them

5. After 30 seconds  of cooking When it puffs up and bubbles, then flip the Tawa and cooked it over direct high flame till the Naan become golden brown & cooked properly.

6. Repeat the same until all dough are done.

7. Brush the naan with the melted butter and sprinkle some Finely chopped coriander leaves on naan for Garnishing (optional).

 Method 2 - Make a Naan Using Non stick Pan

1. Heat up a Pan and lightly grease the surface with some oil. 
Place the dough on it.

2. Then Sprinkle some onion seeds (kalonji) or sesame seeds (black or white) on the naan and press lightly. If you do not have these seeds, then simply skip them.
3. When it puffs up and bubbles flip it over and cook the other side.

4. Repeat the same until all dough are done.

5. Brush the naan with the melted butter and sprinkle some Finely chopped coriander leaves on naan for Garnishing (optional).

Now it's ready to serve, Serve it warm with Any type of Daals & Veg curries.
